If your child turns 4 this financial year, they may need to have health check for you to be eligible for the Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A supplement.
If you or your partner receive Family Tax Benefit (FTB) Part A AND an income support payment such as Parenting Payment, or a payment from the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, you may be asked to arrange a health check for your child. Centrelink will send you a letter letting you know if your child needs a health check.
Your health professional can complete the check any time after your child turns three. Once the check is complete you can tell Centrelink by logging on using your online account via myGov.
Just select the ‘Update Healthy Start for School Review’ option. This option will only appear if your child requires a health check.
