“But, why?” – how to answer those curly questions
Did you know that on average, a four-year-old girl asks 390 questions a day? This gives us 390 opportunities to encourage our children to be curious. A study in the UK found that it is during meal times that most questions are asked.
When you answer ‘why’ questions, you help your child’s learning. And when you respond to the questions with warmth and praise, you boost your child’s confidence.
Being confident helps children to want to learn new things and grow to be motivated learners. This, in turn, will help them to be good problem solvers and do well at school.
