The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) has partnered with government agencies, non-government organisations and peak bodies to develop a suite of resources to help professionals working with children and families understand more about the child protection system.

The QFCC’s Information kit on child protection for professionals offers clear, simple information about Child Safety Services terms and processes.

Knowing how to respond when concerns are held about a child is important, but the child protection system can be complex to navigate. The information kit can help professionals understand their individual and collective roles in supporting children and families and strengthen working relationships in the child protection sector.

The information kit is a valuable resource for early childhood education and care professionals in supporting vulnerable children and families, particularly in their new role as mandatory reporters from 1 July 2017.

The QFCC are also developing an online child protection information module. The module will provide professionals with child protection reporting responsibilities with tips on how to be involved in keeping children safe and protected.
